a place among the stars *

you put a reminder to wake up at a certain time on a certain special day. it obediently plays back, you wake up simply because the excitement of the moment overcomes your struggle to be in the bed in the wee morning hours. You wake up with a hope, a notion, love and support, switch on the laptop and keep awaiting for the moment. the moment which so-called recognizes matchless talent and gives international widespread recognition to the people who deserve it but things did not always turn around as you expect them to be. At times that moment leaves you with a sense of disappointment that things went wrong and people were apparently unfair. This is what happened in 87th academy awards where The Budapest Hotel won best original motional picture soundtrack award over Interstellar. I find Interstellar’s OST as one of the best and jaw-dropping works of Hans Zimmer so far. Any other OST’s released in the same year stand nowhere in front of it. It is so defining, so much into the ambience of the movie, highly cinematic and accentuates almost everything that you see on screen – a splendid work of a genius! What makes Zimmer’s work so unique is sheer zeal of creating something out-of-this-world kind of thing by using something different or using differently be it an idea, an instrument, any distortion or testing the limits of someone’s talent. Look at the way he used that distorted guitar sound to create hatred of The Joker, santoor for Mr Holmes, arabic Desi-2 Basara-2 chanting recording involving thousands of people for Mr Wyane and now that bringing the sound of that church organ for a wormhole journey. if you listen to it very carefully, you figure out that the main theme does not have more than 4 notes playing at different octaves, still defining every emotional aspect of the scene. I mean you start listening, it enters into your blood, sedate your brain and will never ever leave the place it creates! So if this kind of masterpiece work goes without any recognition, it shakes your faith in those institutions and leaves you under the impression that they are nothing more than a faction of snobbish people who are only there to grind their own axes.

But in my and many other people’s eyes, you will always be a hero, a performer, a true genius, a talent born so rarely, an irreplaceable magician of music. every soundtrack that you create deserves many more greater accolades than this fucking trivial OSCOR.

the art of serial making

indian hindi tv serials are seriously not my cup of tea. i barely watch them simply because of the unwanted story stretching, bastardization of stolen soundtracks of English movies in the best possible manner, exaggeration of every tiny details, out of sync dressing i.e. always in a ready-for-shaadi dressing mode, maybe they find those heavy saris too functional to be peeled off even in the moment of nature's call, lack of character driven stories, nothing you can relate to your lives and what not. however i lately accidentally started watching some of serials being aired on Zindagi Channel i.e. Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Dil-E-Nadan and i cant stop saying that i am very much impressed with the style of serial making in Pakistan, in addition to their sense for music. they work too much on story, screenplay, dialogues and direction that you can relate any of those stories to your ongoing processions of lives. it feels as if you are watching a movie made so simplistically without any unwanted ingredients i mentioned above which are rampant in almost every tv serial comes on indian television channels. i totally love the concept of having a theme song, having a tune which can repeatedly been played in between and this is what is always there in their serials. have a look at the soundtrack they create for instance Dile-E-Nadan - too melodious and too well placed having Alycia Dias voicing back and forth the title song plus the character being played by immensely beautiful and talented Sanam Jung, clap! So without giving a second thought, i downloaded the entire series and finished it in two days after having been moved by three S - soundtrack, style an Sanam Jung. i feel its high time that we should learn from them, deviate ourselves from this idiotic style so as to make the creation and watching processes more sensible, realistic and joyful. no better way than ending it with this beautiful verse sung by Alycia Dias ~

it takes so much of time to build trust and it does not take more than a moment to get it destroyed. this is exactly some people of AAP are willing to do and in doing so Mr Kejriwal is no different. this party came into the power merely because of not using and fighting elections on the conventional methodology of politics. They came with the notion of changing the very face of Indian politics, they came, for the very first time, being as an alternative to the people who had no other options but to either look for the mirage of “lotus” which only serves the purpose of trapping people into the marsh it appears to root in or to go with the “hand” which has almost made its way into the arses of every common man of India! They indeed came with something different to bring on table. For once people thought that things should and can be changed, for once people trusted you over others, for once people chose you so that this country can be salvaged eventually but things don’t seem to be in place as of now. their actions are now speaking quite louder than the words so much so that the people like me, who has a liking, has started thinking otherwise. Mr Kejriwal and its party members are clearly doing a stunt based politics just to be in the limelight of media and leaving no stone unturned in getting himself to be a part of the top headlines no matter how idiosyncratic it sounds in the end. I don’t know what on earth makes him think to go to BJP’s office with a list of questions in such a media-hungry fashion whereas he himself could not manage to deliver the promises he made to the people of Delhi. He has now started enveloping the shroud of corruption to everything he thinks his party should challenge. Only beating about the bush around the issues of corruption is not going to get anyone anywhere be it AAP or any other political party. they are unaware about the fact that they are losing the ground, they are losing the place they have created in the hearts and minds of people by showing their fishy distinctions between what they preach and what they do. their images of beings saviors are fading and people have already started raising eyebrows on their intentions because the same Mr Kejrival always said he would never live in the bungalow, he would never want the hospitality of a 5 star hotel, he would never fly on a private jet plane and he would always refrain himself having the access of luxuries a common man can’t even dream of. No matter what and how he comes in his own defense but it will not fit in. People want to see the change but not this kind of change of betrayal, not this kind of vandalism when the model code of conduct is in place, not this kind of change which has no existence of civil behavior, not this kind of change of self-righteous dogmatic thinking, not this kind of change which has more drama than anything substantial and not this kind change where a person who is unable to take care of his chest infection but talking about taking care of the entire country on basis of its comical actions and childish behaviors. It is high time they have to mend their ways and correct themselves else people won’t take much time in showing them the doors! Mark the words!

the dumb-ass

have you ever felt like watching someone on the television and bashing him if it were possible? well i felt the same when i watched rahul gandhi being interviewed by arnab goswami! it seemed like it was premeditated from both sides i.e. he must have decided to come for the show only on the condition of not being grilled much! but in spite of this, he was asked some tough question which he did not make himself prepared of beforehand. the nervousness wrote large on his face which could easily be figured out by the way he kept blinking his eyes unnecessarily in between the conversation and his sweaty forehead. he came on the show with a handful of well rehearsed answers for every question came his way even if it was relevant or not. It was indeed highly comical to see him dodging the questions in the most idiotic manner and hence most of the vital questions went in vain so did the time of viewers. after ruling the country for almost 50 years, it is still a "vision" for the congress that the concentration of power should not be limited to only few people i.e it should be giving to the people. what a shame! if at all he has anything to do for the country and its people, it has always been a "vision". i think he is not even capable of getting his basics right on most of the major problems the country has been facing to which his party has remained a key contributor like corruption and playing divisive politics based on religion and caste etc. not for once did he talk about the the damage his party-people have done to this country. i don’t know what makes him entitled to ask modi to apologize for gujrat riots for which he has been given a clean chit by SIT whereas he did not for once apologized for the aftermath caused by operation Blue Star where he himself admitted and we all know that congress was involved in those Sikh riots. in my eyes, he is someone who does not have his own brain, no ideology, no execution plan, absolute zero knowledge of the political history and functioning and thoroughly incompetent person. his stupidity level is unmatched which can be seen easily in the way he talks, the content of his talks and the presence of an absent mind which still does not know what this county and its people need! it was, is and will always be a nauseating experience watching him delivering bullshit. Please somebody should tell this chap that he is a utter disappointment to this country and to the clan of gandhi family too.

open letter to kumar vishwas

Hope you are safe and doing well. The ultimate purpose of me writing this to you is whatever you have been doing is commendable and matchless. Whatever concepts and methodology you have been using to bring a change into people and system has already won many hearts because it has now become the need of hour and imperative that a change should come. Whatever things you have brought has turned the very face of Kavisammelans, in the same manner your fight to bring the change into politics will yield everlasting benefits and will serve the purpose of doing something for the betterment of the country and its people because this has, in effect for the very first time, shaken the very core of their discerning abilities choosing between right or wrong. They at least now want to see a change happening somewhere and I am sure this will not rest and will keep continuing.

At the same time, I find it so surprising and dejecting that most of the people of country don’t have the spine to do anything but if somebody dares to, they start picking out numerous number of flaws by using their analogy and logics, will try whatever shabby things they can to tarnish your image, to assassinate your characters, to push you back, to backstab you and what not. desh-dharam or rashtra-dharam are meaningless for them, in fact they are not even aware of it and God knows what makes them feel entitled to question others whereas they are inert in every possible way they can like Manmohan Singh. They are too dumb or probably too intelligent to understand the fact that somebody is at least doing something to fight for you, for the country, for the change, for the people, for dharma, for lakhs of people who gave up their lives for our country and for its people. If this country has been going to the dogs, we the people are as much equally responsible as these filthy politicians are. We always let them in to rape our country by choosing them over and over again. Had it been the case that if we would have shown this kind of  outrageous and rebellious demeanor towards these corrupt, conscienceless, heinous, greedy blood-sucking parasites and spit-on-the-face kind of people, if only we would have shown the intentions to see the change and have shown the balls to bring it by doing something, we could have saved our country from looters like Kalmaadi,  Raja and many more to some fair extent.

But anyways, we should now rather be a part of the solution more than being a part of the problem. So whosoever gets to read this message, I request you and remind you to do something for the betterment of your country no matter how small it is, whichever way, whatever you can, whenever do it because this is also your dharma. The sole purpose of the incarnation of Krishna was about dharma so even God is no different. We have to remember this without fail, without even caring about whether the outcome of your efforts will yield anything in our favor so be there, keep fighting, don’t leave, don’t sell your soul, conscience, honesty, will because whatever change it will bring, it will be for the betterment of our coming generations and the country. You will always live in the heart of people, they will draw inspiration from you, they will always hold you in high regard, they will always pray for you and they will always remember you. We must trust this fact that it will not go in vain in any way, we must realize the fact it is never too late and we still have time and caliber to save our country from these vultures so do it.

And with this kind of conviction, good intentions and commitment whatever you are doing is far more valuable than the end result for me. It will be too unfair to sum it all up merely in the terms of winning or losing. It is difficult to talk to you but our blessings and best wishes will always travel with you. And last but not the least, never ever break our trust.
